Antica Bastia is a family-run bed & breakfast located on the hills of Bergamo Alta.
A peaceful and panoramic setting, surrounded by greenery and just a short distance from the historic center: the ideal place to experience Bergamo from every perspective.

The three-story building, with façades made of local stone, likely dates back to the late Middle Ages. The floor plan has remained unchanged since 1808, as evidenced by the distinctive L-shaped layout shown in the Lombardy-Veneto Land Registry maps. Entering the house reveals the same proportions and volumes as over two centuries ago.

The recent renovation focused primarily on the interiors, reorganizing the spaces and installing modern systems, including air conditioning. We wanted to maintain as much of the original character as possible: stone walls, garden views, and the feeling of an old-world yet comfortable home.

The building, located within the Parco dei Colli, is surrounded by a landscape shaped by woodlands, terraced slopes, ancient chestnut groves, and glimpses of the city—a truly distinctive setting, where you can feel immersed in the countryside while still being in the city.

The property around the house extends:

  • on one side for about half a hectare up to the valley called “delle Sorgenti”;
  • on the other for over a hectare and a half towards via Castagneta.

To enhance the traditional rural landscape, a vineyard and an orchard were planted on the land surrounding the old chestnut groves: the greenery changes color and scent throughout the year, creating ever-changing atmospheres.

The courtyard and garden are available to guests for relaxing moments outdoors.

Upon arrival, you may leave your car in the on-site private parking area. Inside, there is also a lounge/work room with a table and chairs, ideal for reading, planning your days, or working on your computer in a quiet and comfortable setting.
